Some background information about me:

I am a veteran full-time international award-winning professional special events videographer whose specialty is wedding videography. I am also an accomplished award-winning visual artist and photographer, occasionally exclusively photographing some events but video production is my primary preference and passion. In addition to my HD professional video equipment, I always bring a professional DSLR camera with me to all events to take hi-resolution location photographs that I use with all of my videos. In addition, some of my video packages include rehearsal and/or dinner party professional photography coverage that I personally photograph. I transfer all of those photographs to non-copyright protected CD's and deliver them the very next day.

I am a former visual arts teacher having successfully taught Middle School art for 28 years in Anne Arundel County, Maryland public schools before retiring in 2004 to pursue my then part time video business full time. Included along with a diverse variety of visual art forms from drawing to sculpture, I also taught both photography and video classes during my former art teaching career. I produced my very first wedding video as a gift in 1989 for a very appreciative family friend. I've produced several hundred wedding videos since then including my 15 international award winners, (displayed on my awards and credentials page. I always enjoy hearing back from my former clients including the many testimonial letters I have received over the years.

You could say, "I was born an artist". I've loved art, especially drawing and painting, and have been creating original works of art for as long as I can remember all the way back to pre-school. My favorite Christmas presents growing up were art supply sets and anything related to painting and drawing. I especially loved spending many hours working on paint-by-number pictures until I decided one day that working "outside the lines" was a lot more fun. During my elementary school years, the teachers were often competing to have me in their classes because I was well known by the teaching staff for my realistic bulletin board colored chalk murals of subjects that included among others; Paul Revere's Ride, Columbus, the Pilgrims and other historic figures. I revisited my elementary school, Point Pleasant, years after I graduated from High school and was pleasantly surprised to see my art works framed and mounted on the walls in the school cafeteria. My art skills blossomed in high school under the guidance of a wonderful art teacher, Mrs. Zylstra where I won numerous fine arts awards including the best artist award at the graduating seniors' awards assembly.

After graduating High School, I attended AACC for 2 years before enlisting in the US Army for a 3 year tour. After my honorable discharge from active duty, I attended the University of Maryland, College Park Campus majoring in Secondary Art Education. I graduated with honors and started teaching art that same year at George Fox Middle School, Pasadena, Maryland.

After videotaping my very first wedding in 1989 as a gift, I was hooked! I loved it as did the highly appreciative newlyweds and It was the perfect part time job for me at the time because most weddings take place in the summertime when I was not teaching and after all, special events video production is indeed a visual art form. I often call it "Hollywood on a small scale" because of its similarity to documentary style movie making. When producing award-winning wedding videos became more fun than teaching for me, I decided to make it my full time career in 2004 and I haven't looked back! Every single wedding I've worked at to date was nothing short of awesome! Using my "artist's eye" and veteran award-winning movie making video skills, I have had the genuine pleasure of creatively forever preserving the many precious sights, sounds and emotions of this most special day for my many happy newlyweds and their loved ones to enjoy for generations to come.
